Builders’ merchant Jewson is celebrating the success of its fifth annual ‘Tour de Jewson’ charity bike ride which recently came to an end at its Binley head office.
To welcome the riders in on their last leg, a celebratory afternoon was held where employees were invited to enjoy a barbecue, ice cream van and other sweet treats, with much-needed refreshments also made available for the Tour de Jewson riders after their challenging journey back to the Binley head office.
Cyclists from seven different locations across the UK took to the roads on 12th September in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. So far the team has raised more than £16,000, with donations still flooding in, enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for a year and provide essential care for those affected by cancer. #
Paul Edwards, Director of Sales at Jewson, said: “We’ve been hosting the Tour de Jewson event for five years now, and this year was the biggest yet with over 140 riders donning their lycra to raise money for Macmillan.
“A big thank you to all of the riders who took part this year, and all of the suppliers and customers who donated and supported us.”
